Two years ago, I was working a 40 hour a week job, teaching yoga 4 days a week, completing my 500 hour yoga certification, and attempting to train and wrangle a new puppy we had recently brought home. And on top of all of that, I wanted to be great partner and friend and find time to visit with family.
Here’s my confession: I STOPPED going to yoga for a while. I just couldn’t figure out where I would carve that one hour out of my day to get to the studio and practice. (Ever been there?)
But here’s the thing. That hour of yoga for myself – I NEEDED it! Mentally. Physically. For my sanity. I finally figured it out and made the time and commitment to myself to get to that hour of practice.
Once I scheduled it in and started to realize how amazing it felt to be making time for self care, I wanted to schedule in more.
I know this personally, (and I’ve heard this from many of you as well): when you get busy, when life gets the craziest, your yoga practice is often what you let go of first. And that is almost always the thing that makes you feel most supported and that you know you need to be making time for.
We all know it takes regular practice and consistency when developing a habit or when wanting to see a real change – intention without consistent action, often leads to disappointment, as we know. We know that to see results and changes in the physical practice of yoga (and the mental!) a practice 2-3 times a week is the fastest way to get those results; strength, comfort, flexibility, and confidence are all within your reach! I know personally, when I have to think about whether or not I “should” spend the money for a drop-in class, or when I have not pre-registered or scheduled the class (and have committed the time and energy) I am far more likely to find a reason not to go.
With this in mind, we have added some member perks to our membership program at Samudra to make it extra sweet for you, and to support you in creating and maintaining your regular practice! When we see you on a regular basis we can support real change in your physical practice and the places you want to see growth. And you will begin to feel AMAZING because you are giving yourself the support that you need.
